Springing Into Disney

If you want to buy Disney items from the source without actually going into one of the kingdoms, you go to Disney Springs, Florida.

Aside from merchandise for all the cool franchises Disney owns in either stores or kiosks, there are other upscale venues, restaurants, bars, a movie theater, specialized items like a chocolate boutique and more.

All located in a free to enter, whimsically Disney take on a shopping area.

Our second time here was much more crowded than when we visited last year. Probably because last year was cold enough to require a real coat and this year was beautiful, warm Florida weather.

You may ask, what's so great about a shopping area?

Well, when it's delightfully Disney, just about everything.

Walk by the Lego store to be enthralled with creations.

It's truly the details of the place that make it fun to just walk through. Stop and catch a musical number or two. They're located in different areas which helps keep people spread out and increases the odds of running across one when wandering around.

The river that runs through the Springs is actually romantic if you take a moment to appreciate the simple beauty of it.

Catch a ride on the hot air balloon.

Well, try anyway. We waited in line for quite awhile only for it to be shut down due to wind. Still, it's pretty to look at and I bet fun to take in the view from at its height.

The PaddleFish is one of the unique restaurants here. And there are a lot of interesting and different eateries to try.

Being Steampunk fans we had to dine at the Edison. The Edison is a mix of Steampunk and the 1920s. It's fabulous.

We unintentionally showed up just in time for a show. The band and singer where fantastic.

But the highlight was the drink we ordered to share, the Porthole for 2. Made with grey goose essences peach and rosemary, belle de brillet, berentzen apple liquor, pineapple, apple, strawberry, rosemary, cinnamon, orange peel, served with segura rose cava.

We were wondering how all of those ingredients could be put together in a single container. Pretty creatively we decided.

If you stay long enough and are in just the right location, you can even catch fireworks in the distance.

Not bad for shopping area.
