Sweet Dreams are Made of This

Whoever said "all things come to those who wait" was a lot more patient person than I am. Does being forced to wait still accomplish the same task?

This last year has been a whirlwind of destruction, construction, cleaning and packing. Our goal is simply to be in a position to spend more time together seeing the world while we still have the ability.

To reach our goal we have decided to downsize, by selling our house, moving into an RV and keeping our bills minimal.

Step one, accomplished! Our house on the market. Almost every weekend of 2019, and many days in between, were spent in painstaking manner to accomplish this (and my lovely wife can attest to my grumpiness caused by this).

And cleaning. Did I mention we had a lot of crap?! Frankly, crap that we mostly never used. At least 2/3 of our worldly possessions are gone now, or as we like to call it to the kids, early inheritance. It is their turn to horde it now.

The upside is our "new" house will be mobile, which will allow us to easily spend a weekend, week, or even longer wherever in North America we want to. This includes the ability to allow me to pick short term contracts, or even pursue work-from-home jobs, without the scare of how to support the family while job hunting. I mean, ideally I wouldn't have to hunt for a job at all, but my luck at the lottery hasn't quite been forthcoming yet.

The end result will be spectacular though. We can't wait to get out and see the world. It is time to live, not just work to live.
